Details Applicants are invited for the post of Clinical Lecturer in the Academic Unit of Ophthalmology, part of the Institute of Inflammation and Ageing, College of Medical and Dental Sciences. This post has been designed specifically to stimulate interest in the academic aspects of this subject and will provide excellent experience and training. The Lecturer will be expected to take an active part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. There are active research programmes within the Academic Unit providing increasing opportunities to do research. Possession of a higher academic degree is desirable but not essential.
Further Information The appointee will be recommended for Specialty Trainee (years 3-5) status within the Postgraduate school of Ophthalmology (Health Education England working across the West Midlands) and the post comprises five protected academic sessions. The successful candidate should show an aptitude towards research, possess Part 1 FRCOphth and have successfully completed a minimum of two years of training in recognised training posts in Ophthalmology at the time of taking up the post. Years 4/5 will require the Refraction Certificate.
