The Edinburgh Medical School: Molecular Genetic and Population Health Sciences seeks a new Readership position that presents a unique, and timely opportunity to strengthen its capability in medical informatics and clinical diabetes research, and capitalise on a key relationship with a prospective Chinese partner organization. The University is looking to develop world-leading experience in diabetes education and clinical informatics. The first opportunity is to co-develop a China-UK Institute of Medical Research, Education and Management to provide expertise to an array of mainland China projects in the areas of clinical training, research, informatics, quality improvement, service delivery, systems management and innovation in chronic disease. Relevant to this initiative, the post will enhance a research and clinical training portfolio in diabetes, lead and secure significant funding and contribute to the Institute’s research, training and innovation activities. They will impart knowledge by teaching, facilitating student learning (including undergraduate, masters and doctoral levels), enhancing eLearning and on-line teaching initiatives and publishing in peer-reviewed outputs.
