Details Cardiff University, College of Biomedical and Life Sciences, School of Dentistry invites applications for part-time Clinical Lecturers in Primary Care Dentistry available from February 2018. Clinical teaching sessions are available on the following days: Monday AM and PM; Tuesday AM and PM, and Thursday AM. These posts provide an exciting opportunity to make a real contribution to the teaching and training of students studying at the School of Dentistry, Cardiff University. The successful applicant should hold full General Dental Council registration and have an interest in teaching. The successful candidate will be awarded an appropriate honorary contract by Cardiff and Vale Local University Health Board. For confidential, informal enquiries regarding this vacancy please contact (Dr Robert McAndrew, Head of Dental Education, Scholarship and Innovation; Salary: £31,931 - £59,402 per annum, pro-rata for hours worked (Clinical Grade D1) These post are part-time and are open-ended from 1 February 2018. Working Pattern: There are five sessions available per week (4 hours per session). Monday AM and PM; Tuesday AM and PM, and Thursday AM. It is anticipated that appointments will vary from one to five sessions. Further Information 1. Evidence of competency in Primary Care Dentistry. 2. Demonstrate an interest in teaching. 3. Ability to teach clinical procedures in Primary Care Dentistry and take independent decisions when necessary and seek advice as appropriate 4. Demonstrable knowledge of clinical governance. 5. Evidence of Continued Professional Development in specified core activity and Primary Care Dentistry. 6. Hold full General Dental Council registration. 7. Evidence of significant post qualification experience of working within a general dental practice environment and /or hospital environment 8. Ability to work well within a team, demonstrating excellent .communication skills, both written and verbally, and the ability to relate to patients, students and colleagues. Desirable Criteria 1. Publications in peer reviewed journals 2. Further qualifications, e.g., DGDP,MFDS,MGDS 3. Previous experience of teaching. Vocational Training /GPT/Trainer experience.
